PoliticalThe term political, used here, incorporates both traditional governmental politics and the development of personal politics that happen on an individual or community level. Being political means making sense out of the world around you and looking critically at mainstream ideas. Politics aren't just about upper-middle class white guys in suits with campaign posters. It's more extensive than that! Being yourself in a world that tries to make you like everyone else is political. Coming out can be a political act. We can claim queerness as both a sexual identity and a political position. The term implies a critical understanding of the world and a desire for social change.
